Singapore Day 3
Today we got a small sleep in as we did not have to go to school. We travelled by bus to the Singapore Zoo. Which was an amazingly exciting  trip as we RODE ON ELEPHANTS!!!!!! There was lots of shows going on like the Seal show and elephants painting. As we walked around the zoo we saw monkeys and other small animals sitting in trees free from any cages. Another optional activity was to feed the african animals for only the cost $5.00! After we had been to the zoo, we had a bit of time to relax at the hotel before we went out for a night trip to Little India. We split into groups and went off around Little India. One of the groups found a Henna Station which is like a herbal semi permanent tattoo. After while the groups meet up and passed the idea on which lead the second group off to get some of their own.
Singapore Day 2
After a good nights sleep we once again headed off to Dunearn Secondary School where we joined in on their classes and the went to a health and environment talk about global warming and how to treat our countries. After the assembly we again went off with our buddies to shop and eat their cultural  food. That night Mr. Boo (Principal of Dunearn), Mrs. Newson and Mr. Howson had arranged a big dinner at a restaurant in Jurong East. Most of the food was rare to us, as there was Jellyfish, Mini Octopus, Whole Chicken, Whole Fish (head included), a Noodle Dish and a Coconut Milk and Melon dessert. To finish it all off, the teaches and chefs had a cake that was really yummy for Siobhan as it was her birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIOBHAN!

Singapore Night one & Day 1

Singapore 1st Night
On Sunday the 17th of July 2011, we departed from Auckland airport at 11:45am. It was a 10 hour flight and we arrived in Singapore at 6:15pm. It was really hot and as soon as the doors opened at the Singapore airport the heat got to us, luckily the bus was air conditioned. Even though it was late we were all super excited to get to our hotel rooms and settle in. The hotel we are staying at is called the Landmark Village hotel. When we got to the hotel we got given our cards and headed to our rooms. We all had difficulty in the lifts but we got there in the end.
Singapore Day 1......
On Day 1 we hopped onto our air conditioned bus to visit Dunearn Secondary school, where we met our buddies. When we got off the bus the heat bowled us over, it was so hot. During the day we attended their classes and joined in with their    worksheets. As the day went on it got hotter and hotter! By mid-day most of us were ready to go back to the hotel for a swim. After recess at Dunearn Secondary school, we all went into the food rooms with our buddies, they showed us how to create a known Singapore dish and we taught them how to create a few dishes known here. Olivia, Jesse, Siobhan, Mate and Joe were going to make fish and chips, but forgot to get the fish out of the fridge into the hotel, so made battered chips! LOL. Kayla, Lucy and Briar made ANZAC biscuits. Zoe, Brooke and Amy brought over some L&P from New Zealand and shared that with everyone and Mr. Howson and Emily made Lolly cake that was delicious!! After a long day of cooking and school we went off with our buddies to explore around the malls and go to their houses. Some people meet up at malls and hung out together, shopped, watched movies or just chilled with their buddies. One thing I think we all found exciting was their transport. The transport they use to get from home to schools and around the city are way different to ours, they use public trains, busses and taxis. We had fun and by the end we were all really tired so we went to sleep to get ready for the next day.
